How to order a book
A book is ordered from its individual catalogue page, which gives information about the book, including the price. Each catalogue page has a 'Buy Now' button at the top. Clicking on this button adds that book to your shopping basket. When you click the 'Buy Now' button for a title you will be taken to a page showing the current contents of your basket. You can browse through the catalogue, adding books as you go if you wish.
At this stage you can consider the shopping basket as simply a list of the books that you intend to purchase. You are not committed to purchasing them just by placing them in the basket. You will be given the opportunity to remove items or change quantities if you wish.
To buy online from Chambers Harrap you will need to have cookies enabled in your browser. A cookie is an item of information about your order, temporarily stored on your computer during the ordering process. Any cookies created are completely removed from your computer once your order is placed, or if you cancel your order during the process, or when you close your browser. To avoid problems while ordering online, make sure that cookies are enabled: refer to the cookie options in your browser under the Preferences or Options menu.
How to change the contents of your order
You can remove titles from your order or change the quantities. Click on 'Review Order' on the left-hand navigation menu to see details of your order (this view will also appear when you have just added a new item to your shopping basket). To alter the quantity of an item, change the number in the Quantity box and click on 'Update Totals'. (To delete an item completely click on the 'Delete' button to the right of the title.) Once you have made all the changes you require, click on the 'Update Totals' button.
Finalizing your order
When your basket contains your final selection and quantities, click on 'Proceed'. Here you will be asked to complete the required delivery area, payment and address details. You are given the opportunity to check your details before finally submitting your order.
If you entered a valid email address at the appropriate point in the form, a confirmation of your order will be sent to you shortly afterwards.
Delivery information
Delivery charges and times depend on where the order is to be sent. For delivery purposes, Chambers Harrap has divided destinations into three different areas: UK, Western Europe and the Rest of the World.
Please click on the destination area of your order to see charges and estimated delivery times.
Payment methods
Payment for online orders can be made by Mastercard, Visa or American Express. Please note that we are unable to accept payment by debit card (eg. Switch/Solo/Delta).
If you would like to order a Chambers Harrap title by some other means, please request a copy of our printed catalogue which gives full details of the options available.
Order cancellation
If you decide that you do not want to proceed with your order, simply click on the 'Cancel Order' button. 'Cancel Order' permanently deletes your entire shopping basket and a message confirming this will be displayed on-screen. Please note that you can only cancel online orders prior to clicking on the final 'Place Order' button. Once 'Place Order' has been chosen, the order will be transmitted. Should you have any queries once your order has been sent, please contact Bookpoint Limited on 01235 827702 or email mailorder@bookpoint.co.uk.
